Emily and Tom's Wedding at Glen Magna Farms
Ryan Williams
Emily and Tom were married on May 14th, with a ceremony and reception at Glen Magna Farms in Danvers, MA.
I’ve known Emily for many years as a friend and past colleague, so I was thrilled when she asked me to be there as their photographer. It was truly an honor. What’s more, Glen Magna is right outside my alma mater, Monserrat College of Art , so it was a great feeling to reflect on how far I’ve come in my career.
Emily and Tom met online. She saw that he had listed the “Safety Dance” as his favorite music, and she messaged him about it because she thought it was hilarious. There has not been a day since then that they haven’t spoken—and they even played that song at their wedding as their final song.
Tom proposed at the Boston Aquarium, where they had their second date. He had one of the divers dive into the big tank and hold up a sign asking her to marry him, all while the diver captured the whole thing on Go Pro. I love how personal the whole experience was, and Emily’s engagement ring is also one of the most unique I have ever seen.
Before the wedding itself, Tom and Emily had a first look early in the morning. Tom had been adamant about not seeing the dress or makeup before then, and both of them enjoyed the moment of stillness with just the two of them before the craziness started.
After that, there was a beautiful ceremony and then plenty of partying. I loved that the groomsmen all wore sneakers—they were clearly ready for a good time.
Emily & Tom, thank you for trusting me to capture this moment for you. It was truly an honor to be included in your day, and I wish you both the best together!
